Hello, I’m Colinda. I am a retired teacher of 27 years who loves to read and write. After retirement, I chose to take my enthusiasm for reading and writing and turn it into a new career—proofreading. I am a certified master proofreader from Proofread Anywhere. I will be using and am well-versed in The Chicago Manuel of Style and the Merriam-Webster Dictionary. Please let me know if you require a different style guide; I can also use APA or MLA. I also offer services for beta reading and audio transcribing.

My attention to detail is honed by my love for reading and writing. I have provided editorial support, including developmental feedback (beta reading) and final proofreading for several novels written by a friend. This experience ultimately led me to pursue proofreading professionally.

Beta Reading

As your beta reader, my feedback is designed to celebrate your strengths while also offering clear suggestions for areas to polish and enhance your manuscript. The specific areas a beta reader will look at are the following;

  • characters (believability, growth, engagement)

  • plot (pacing, plot holes, structure, hook, ending)

  • writing style (dialogue, tone, voice, word choice)

  • world building and setting (clarity, believability)

  • overall reader experience (emotional impact, clarity, engagement)

$75.00 – up to 40k words
(generally 1–2 weeks)

$100.00 – up to 60k words
(generally 2-2.5 weeks)

$125.00 – up to 80k words
(generally 2.5-3.5 weeks)

$150.00 - up to 100k words
(generally 3.5-4 weeks)

For books of more than 100k words, please contact me for a quote. 

Timelines may vary depending upon workload. I will confirm a timeline with you before booking the job. I will stay in touch with you throughout the process.

As your audio transcriber, I will take your audio or video file and generate an accurate transcript—a written record of podcasts, videos, speeches, meetings, lectures, sermons, training, and more.

Pricing:

Basic pricing for clean audio/video with one or two speakers will begin at $1.50 per audio minute.

Pricing will vary depending upon the following:

  • audio/video quality

  • number of speakers

  • faster turnaround

  • time coding

  • verbatim transcript wanted

Turnaround time will normally be 3-5 business days for your completed, standard transcript.
